ENVIRONMENTAL
Environmental health is the branch of public health that: focuses on the relationships between people and their environment; promotes human health and well-being; and fosters healthy and safe communities. Environmental health is a key part of any comprehensive public health system.
WOMEN, INFANTS & CHILDREN (WIC)
WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. WIC serves eligible pregnant and breastfeeding/postpartum people, caregivers (bio, adoptive, foster, kinship, etc.) of infants, and children up to 5 years of age.
NURSING
The Public Health Nursing division consists of public health nurses who provide a variety of public health programs to the community.
VITAL STATISTICS
The Bureau of Vital Statistics operates a statewide system for the registration of births, deaths, and other vital events that happen within the State of Ohio. You may obtain a certified copy of a birth certificate for those born in the state of Ohio through any health district in the state. Death certificates, however, must be obtained in the county that the person passed away in.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
The Emergency Preparedness (EP) Division plans, trains, and collaborates, so that residents and visitors of Champaign County can prepare for, respond to, and recover from catastrophic incidents.
COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT PLAN (CHIP)
The Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) is a result of collaborative community participation. Contributors include multiple task force and coalition partners, as well as individual community members.
